What a coil!!

Post by Barbossa76 »

Detech ultimate 15 coil here, bout the same size as a sky dish! Air tests are amazing, can't wait till tomorrow to get out and try it. got it on ace 300i, was getting good results with the 11 inch, so got high hopes for this, only thing that can go wrong now is torrential rain, and not fitting in rucksack [20/]

Only potential problem I can see is the coil lugs, or ears on it look quite thin, maybe there's strengthers for it? Till then I'll be careful

Cheers rs1600bda, it's definitely a bit nose heavier, looks great on the ace tho.
And as said air tests good, another thing I've noticed, wen I turned detector on with the 11 in house it went ballistic, obviously because orally the electrical interference in house, with the ultimate on its more stable, good sign for when its out in field

Only thing I would say just testing in house. Coil lugs look to be thin. Time will tell

Was out today with the bigger coil, found some modern coinage, not very deep, but did more depth tests, by re burying coins this time a good bit deeper than pin pointer, and it hit them hard, so a very deep coil, weight wasn't enough to worry me, it felt ok to swing, I managed to carry both coils in rucksack, so I can use either when the need arises, the 11 inch coil was bit better when it got trashy,..
I never got the original coil with the 300, I will probably buy a sniper coil, then I'll have good full set up.

Anyway, love the detech coil, and can recommend to anyone thinking of it for their machine [81/]
