You might not be lucky in your request. Most detectorists have worked hard to get permissions and are somewhat adverse to letting others tag along.

It is not easy to get access so probably best to see if any relative or friend knows someone with land who might give you permission. Otherwise it is back gardens for a start.

The two main clubs that cover Leicester area are. Fox Metal Detecting Leicestershire.
This year they have digs by invite.
The other club is Digging Up The Past Metal Detecting Club. Open And private digs.
Dig fee is members £10. Non members £15. Membership is currently open until
the 1st February 2023.
Both are facebook based clubs.

They maybe your best option until you can find your own permission.
