Viking vk30 review

Post by Barbossa76 »

I was told this detector was really a good all rounder in their range, first day out with it,
And it rewarded me with a handful of coins and other bits and pieces.
It falses a little on wet grass, but nothing drastic .
I used it mainly in motion mode, my opinion and going by finds and air tests is that in motion mode this detector will comfortably find pound coin sized targets at around 6 to 7 inches.
Which is fine, non motion mode is definitely a inch or two deeper than that, maybe more.
Which is good, using both modes one after the other on a bit of ground would work very well, beach mode is probably not a great idea as pressing that button wipes alot out, but might have it's uses on very trashy areas where depth not needed. It is definitely well made and quite a good looking machine. This detector is going to be in regular use, it's has decent depth capabilities especially in all metal non motion mode, pinpoint mode is very accurate too, a slow swing is probably best for this machine, I think with the three modes it has and the build quality and performance it is quite a lot of detector for the money. And so would recommend it for users of any level.
And if you can't make your mind up on a motion or non motion machine then buy a vk30.
Because it's both [81/]
Minelab vanquish 340 & makro racer 2 and a shovel
