LCSS Open Dig, Sunday 25th Sept 2022, Nr Salisbury, Wiltshire

After two visits the farmer wants us back again! [18/] [81/]

Currently, a bit of a placeholder with more information to follow and I will update this post as and when.

It will be new land on the same farm.

It will be 9.00 am start until you drop or 6.00 pm.

It will be flat cultivated land and might be drilled.

It will be £20 for the day.

There will be at least 100 acres of land.

About the farm - we have had a massive array of finds from Iron Age all the way through to modern. 2 visits have produced 3 Treasure cases. 1 rare central european Boi gold stater, approx 16 bronze staters, Roman coins, brooches etc, Anglo Saxon sceattas, a huge variety of hammered coins, tokens etc.

The above is no reflection on what the new land will be like!!

TO ATTEND: Please email jcmaloney@btinternet.com with "Salisbury Dig 2022" in the subject line.

IF YOU PREVIOUSLY ATTENDED YOU WILL ALREADY BE ON THE MAILING LIST. [81/]

Spoken to the farmer this week.
109 acres of land will be flat & cultivated across 2 fields.
Parking will be on a private farm track which is about a mile or so long.
I have sourced nearby camping for anyone who wants such - you will need to book that yourself and that farm does not allow detecting.
A "teaser" email will go out in the next couple of weeks.

We are 95% "full" at the moment and its likely the list will close by mid-August.

1. Teaser email sent with outline info and people added to the mailing list.
2. We have event insurance for our events so don`t need to check NCMD/FID/Others.
3. Farmer has confirmed the land will be cultivated and flat as per normal.
4. Exact location will be sent Thursday/Friday before.
5. We use www.what3words.com for locations please download the app!
6.
