I got a pair of those Big Blue headphones off ebay. Only work with my Fisher 1265x not Garrett 250 or an etrac.

Its tough getting agreat pair of headphones that get the best from your machine and when you do get the right pair its crap when they then go wrong or arent tough enough to last ive just got rid of a pair of pro-phones i had for about 10 yearsthat was a sad day but i now have a pair of jolly rogers but you pay your money and take a chance with the cheaper ones

Hi, check out the Koss Qz99's some very good reviews on these headphones, and people seem very happy with them and their abilility to cut out ambient noise, and they come with two sizes of jack plugs. I will be getting a pair myself in the next couple of weeks, around 40 quid.

Ive been watching this thread with interest, I have a pair of the Garrett headphones, which are perfect for my detecting, they have the 6.4mm plug, so I don't have to use an adapter for the smaller jacks on most quality headphones. They have a coiled lead, so you have a bit of give when you put your detector down to dig your find out of the hole. They also have a wide rimmed ear cup, so they don't squash the edges of your ears, they are very comfortable.............

However......... I have noticed while walking along, that the display sometimes picks something up under the surface, But I don't hear a tone, when I have gone back and sweeped the place where the display showed a find.... I dig a small object, say a lead pellet at 10"...... Im wondering if the headphones do not have the Hz - kHz range that my detector is sending out and i'm missing finds when i'm not looking at my display......

Seriously considering going for a pair of Jolly Rogers for £67

I use the predator head phones the cable is very flexable and returns to its curled state the sound reproduction is very good only problem is once there on you wont hear anything going on out side of them, so I might keep them on when im at home lol :D

Thanks Rayzor and all who have helped on this, interesting about the lack of signal even though you had a target on the display. i had a pair of HD 30/30 cheapo phones (£5)and the wires broke inside & came unsoldered, but they did work and were comfortable and they look exactly like the Whites model at £22. Should i try these? .MMMMMM
