headphones
headphones
I have a set that i got with my detector, are there any you can get with longer leads or are they pretty much the same, just that me being tall the lead seems to be pulling when i'm sweeping or recovering, also can you use any type for detecting, The one's i got cost about 12 quid so pretty cheap i think..thanks for your help.
Hi I bought some from ebay they were around £30 but they have a concertina lead, like a telephone wire which meant there was no stretching. I have now gone onto wireless headphones but still keep the others as spares as the signals come through loud and clear. I think they were specifically for Garrett detectors but they work really well with my Trident Laser.
I sometimes think its better to bite the bullet and spend a bit more straight off as I had two or three different types first, two of them the cable snapped through being stretched and the other pair kept slipping off my head (a cheap dj type of headphones). Regards Pauline

What I would see as important features for any headphone used for detecting:phil wrote:Thanks for replying, can any headphones be used.
long enough and robust cable or wireless (my detectors both came with wireless, and I really dont wish to turn a wire around me)
convenient fit (detecting can take several hours, so headphones should not cause pain after some minutes of use)
clear tones (especially on a stormy beach you want to hear the signals on top of the ocean and wind noise)
robustness for outdoor use (minor rain, dirt etc should not break the headphones immediatly)
Best greetings from Germany
