Lost item in Chorley, Lancs.
Hi I have posted this before, but not sure if it reached anybody
My name is Ron, I am a volunteer at Chorley Panthers ARLC
for kids from 6 up to 20s
I was line measuring and marking the other week and lost a metal peg in the grass in about a 3mt square area, we bought a £10 metal detector, rubbish..we cut the grass ,but still could not find it,It is a safety issue as we don't want any child falling on it and injuring themselfs
Could anybody help by coming down to the club on a Friday when we are there volunteering
Thanks Ron

Hi Ron,
I work in Burnley but live in Wigan, so come past the area most nights. Next couple of Fridays difficult as we are season ticket holders at Wigan and as you know its a busy time of year
Is there a chance any other evening this week that someone could meet after work, ( be about 5.45 ish ). A quick sweep should have it found with a bit of luck.
Happy to help if that fits in.
Dan.

That' very kind, Dan. It may be worth sending a pm to Ron too, so that he gets a notification.Captaindan wrote: Sun Sep 08, 2024 2:13 pm Hi Ron,

Well, after communications to and fro, finally got down to Chorley Panthers rugby club last night and met up with Pete, ex chairman and good egg.
20 minutes searching in the suspected area found nothing, which means their mower probably picked the missing tent peg up.
Good news really as the lads won’t risk injury if they landed on it.
Great facility, lovely folk.

Nice one captain Dan.
After being rejected from a farm earlier this week becuase of previous detectorists leaving rubbish on top of their not very well packed back plug holes and being a general pain to deal with, it's good to see other Lancastrian detectorists are out there doing good like this.

It's not what you don't know that is the problem. It's what you think you know, that just isn't so.

I detect around the Ribble valley, trough of Bowland and into Craven and west Yorkshire.
I have a few permissions towards neck of the woods too, near Hoghton and Walton le Dale but I tend to stay more locally and have rarely been to those.
