Medieval mounts ? X3

Post by Jase77 »

Very nice star shape object with scrolling letters stamped. When it came up thought it was a home made sheriff badge lol. Guessing horse related but is it medieval?
Second item, small disc shield style. Swear there is a tiny fragment of bright green near centre- wonder if it was enamalled? Again is a mount of sorts?
Third item with two holes I guess furniture related?
Thanks for looking

Hi
I think the star mount is more likely post-medieval - modern (1700s onwards) rather than medieval given the integral spikes/fixings and the style of lettering of the monogram.

Pretty sure the item with two holes is an early 18th century bit boss.
If it is difficult you are doing it wrong

It all looks like horse tack to me although the smaller round object might be furniture related. I would have thought that it's all 19thC onwards. [81/]

I agree with Fred, they all look like horse harness fittings, probably no earlier than the late 18th century.
