Possible fob seal mount

Post by Rupert45 »

Hi

I have found what I think may be some type of fob seal mount. I have never found one before and just wanted confirmation and possible age.

It has some lovely markings on it and it looks like the seal would have sat within the rim.

Found with my nox 600 on arable land.
Gave a signal of 14 and found 2 inches from the surface.

If it is a fob seal I need to get Back out and find the missing part
Thanks

Yes, a fob seal frame... very nice. Around 18th/19th century. [81/]

The missing part is likely to have been glass so will be difficult to find unless you know exactly where the hole was - even then they may have become separated some time ago and be some distance apart [81/]
