Horse Harness Ring? + Queen Vic half penny

Post by MrKeen92 »

Hi, quick couple of hours yday with the xterra Intrepid and found these, can anybody help ID please?

Queen Victoria half penny - Can't quite make out a date so if anyone is able to get anything from this that would be amazing. (Further update - a small brush and I'm seeing 1861 date). Would like to give it a clean so any advice on that is much appreciated.

Horse Harness Ring? I think that's what it is anyway 🤷🏻‍♂️ how do you date these please? If it helps I've weighed it at 117g. Aware picture looks misaligned but I promise it's on the sizescale perfectly 🥲

Thanks in advance 😁

I would squirt a bit of distilled water on the surface and give a gentle brush. I have had good result from using composite cleaning pencils. It`s all a bit of trial and error I have ruined plenty of boring coins but learnt from it. With something a bit nice I would be very cautious. Good luck..... [81/]
