Very difficult mate , i used to own a deus and went back to my etrac. Deus is an excellent machine - but found it a bit too noisy and chirpy. Also the auto ground balance of the etrac makes things a little easier! Both very good machines though!
The new XPLab Deustrac!!

ive used mine on many of the beaches around plymouth this summer and must admit have had no problems. found over £20 in coins on one beach alone in the dry and the wet sands changing the programmes as needed. i havent tried submurging the coil so cant comment on that aspect. i must say its a great machine, its ok on the beach but it LOVES ploughed and have had some good finds at depth there and also in arable too. have just bought the bigger coil and am trying that out at the moment. hope this helps.
