Weston beach is often cleaned with the big sand plough...
Also this weekend was the huge motorbike event, so probably not a good idea......
Having said that they dug tonnes and tonnes of sand around to make the jumps.....you never know

Have you been there recently?
Standing room only since the new pier was built...
As for the sewage i think you are outdated there.......I know we have the blue flag (our beach is round the corner at Brean) and i think weston also.......

Ive done Weston a number of times towards the golf course end , my first sweep was a £1 coin i thought this gunna be good , not so , i did find about £9 or so , but the amount of rolled up foil , Barbey bits , cumming in at 12- 30 on the etract had to be dug . tried farther down the beach where the rippled sand stops and shell starts , there also with every sweep of the coil the small bits of aluminium cans , good signal got to be dug , that was my first trip . been back about five times looking for that hot spot , more money , old Penny's , lead sinkers , keys , toys and 1gold ring . o yea and a bucket of tin

Some years in the 80's I went metal detecting on Weston beach and found a diamond and sapphire ring not far from the pier. Ten years ago I had it valued and it was £350. Not sure what its worth now. I also found a silver threepence in a rock which gave a great signal.

And when I broke the rock open with my spade the coin was inside !

Always used to call it Weston Super Mud when we were nippers. Loads of sand/mud. Read the warning signs and don't get stuck in the mud! :(
