The four large bullets in the first picture are .50 caliber

The larger bullet at the top of the picture is from a 20mm cannon

Nice finds :)

Nice ID John. I was wondering what those things were... they looked familiar, but I had no idea.

Cheers :)

Hi Fishy,

[quote="fishy]

you make a grand job of cleaning all that stuff up. I am amazed at how much WW2 spent ordinance is lying around on our beaches. I work Talacre beach in North Wales and have been uncovering shattered and shreded 303's and 50 caliber copper bullets, but none in tact like yours. And no shell cases! What I thought were pieces of scrap iron turned out to be 50 caliber armour piercing bullets covered in iron salts. Found my first 20mm cannon shell last week.

What did you use to clean them up ? They look really good. :) I have some nice brass buckles, but hard hard work trying to clean them.
Its better out of the ground and in your hand for the history or monetary value rather than left in the ground to rot doing nothing for anyone.

The best thing for cleaning is a brass wheel in a bench grinder.
Awesome results!

Thanks All :)
