beach test tonight with the deus
ive heard many people slating the dues and all i can say is your programming the setting's wrong and having the deus looking for the wrong type of terrain and finds but ive also heard etrac's are better on beaches than a dues
You just don't know how to use it

This is my metal detector
There are many like it, but this one is MINE.
My metal detector is my best friend. It is my life.
I must master it as I must master my life.
My metal detector without me is useless. Without my metal detector, I am useless....

i hear What your saying oldhamlad but the setting i stuck with was wet beach that was programmed by professionals. I dont really want to go back to the etrac as the reason i changed was the weight factor. Maybes a second machine like the excalibur for the beach is in order as i like the deus on land and seems to do ok.

your probably right lol. I think it was picking up every bit of iron on the beach lol but giving a high tone even on 27 descrim.King cnut wrote:You just don't know how to use it

I've had a few goes on the beach with it and it's alright and you get some nice depth out of it. Make sure you have updated to V2 and your on Wet or Dry sand setting if you have interference turn the senstivtity down
If you don't go out and look your never find it

Thats good to know. I'll give it a few more goes and see How it does.John W wrote:I've had a few goes on the beach with it and it's alright and you get some nice depth out of it. Make sure you have updated to V2 and your on Wet or Dry sand it's you have interference turn the senstivtity down

Don't know a thing about the Deus, but my standard settings I use were useless on the beach on my explorer, took some adjustments with the discrimination and sensitivity to get it reading nice, I suspect this may be the case here, sure the Deus users will be able to shed some light on it

i think the problem is our beach is very trashy in places but this is were the best finds are and the etrac coped No problem winkling the finds out No end. This is were i tried the deus tonight on yet beach V2 and even turned the sense down but it was a high tone signal every 12 inches and down to very large iron i think. I dug some large iron last Sunday on the club dig that was giving high tones on deus fast which turned out to be a pair of stilson's (large wrench) and a hammer lol. Is it best to notch out 90 and over to stop the iron wrap around.
