Looks like you have a live .45calibre ACP cartridge. Has the blast cap on the base got any impact marks on it ? If not, it's live and you need to hand it in to the Police ASAP. Your other bullet appears to be a 45cal as well, with a 22 cartridge case and what looks like a more modern cartridge.

The headstamps on the base of the cartridges will tell us all we need to know. Can you post them pls.

Look at it this way. It is a little sad that you are having to hand the 45cal ACP cartridge in to the police, but on the plus side is the fact that you won't go to jail for a mandatory 5 year sentence if you get caught with it. You cannot de-activate a live cartridge as, firstly, you need a firearms licence to do so and secondly, you probably prefer to keep all your fingers.

Can you take a picture of the base of the cartridges ?

Thanks :)

Both are 'rimfire' cartridges and both appear to be .22 calibre. One seems to be a high powered rifle cartridge. Both are relatively modern.

I am surprised your 45cal round hasn't got a headstamp, and it is highly unusual if it doesn't have one.
