Ok, So Which Beeches After The Storms?

Post by wozelbeak »

The high winds and stormy seas should shift some sand about.
any ideas which side of the country will have the most productive beeches?

The east coast has had a real pounding so anything along that side could be productive. :)

east coast? Were lol? Our east coast is like a Mill pond. As the winds coming from the south west then the bottom and west side will be getting hammered hence the blackpool quip

At the moment, I go to work in the dark, come home in the dark, it's a real pain. I really miss the light evenings when I usually get a session abit short down the beach after work.

Will be interesting to see whats the rough weather has done to the beach my way if anything. Where I live it really needs an an easterly wind for a few days starts the process off however light the wind is. Then a westerly which moves the cut along The strong westerlys on there own don't seem to have much of an effect.

Yep, quite a few Beeches have come down around here - I might try detecting around the uprooted earth :-p

HI all,
I live in Southport and the sand on Southport, Ainsadle and Formby beaches(these are all connected) has been ripped away, awsome. I'll be there tomorow if the weather will allow it. Anyone wanting a trip out let me know.

Hi,
I have only just started detecting on Formby beach but the sea unlike Southport is encroaching rather than staying further out so the cafe that was there in the 1950's is now a few hundred yrds out and that area was used a lot in Victorian times. I'm waiting for the strong winds to weaken slightly and then i'll have a go at low tide. I have found modern money, spent .303 rounds and a gold brooch.
