LOL !! You'd be surprised just how much WW2 and indeed WW1 stuff is lying about just beneath the surface. Best day I ever had was at an old gunnery range in England. After 2 hours I had to pack in because my bags were full. I had 240 303 cartridges, 10 50cals, 4 20mms, 60 9mm cartridges, 22 .45carts, 60 303 bullets, 30 9mm bullets, 10 45cal bullets, 8 mills base nuts, 2 filler nuts, 40 bits of internal column, one striker arm, 3 Lee-Enfield clips, 4 data plates off barbed wire entanglements, and numerous other bits !

I don't have a picture of the finds from that hunt, (it was before I started recording everything !!), but have a picture from a similar trip a few months later. I had to pack in after a couple of hours again for the same reason :)

Difficult to tell without a scale in the picture, but they are either .45calibre or 9mm. Look more like 45s to me. Used in various pistols and the Thompson SMG.

That is crazy!

I find a lot of ww2 bullets. A lot, but no-where near that amount!

Irony is, that my detecting permission is DIRECTLY beneath where the battle of Britain took place. Thats all I get. Bullets and shrapnel, bullets and shrapnel.

What part of the country are you in to be getting that amount!?
