First gold!

Post by urban spaceman »

:(
I've only been detecting a relitively short time (7 or 8 weeks) exclusively on beaches.
I've found the usual amount of junk. I've found a fair amount of decimal coins, loads of bullets and even a couple of pieces of low value jewellery, the best of which was a broken gents silver ring.
So you can imagine the excitement as I catch a glimpse of gold when digging a signal about six inches down.
The edge of a ring?.....a gold coin perhaps?

Nope, not exactly..........A chocolate £1 coin, it's gold coloured foil in mint condition.

:(( :(( :D ;) I had a good giggle over this one - who says detecting isn't great fun!

I know how you feel,

On one of my first hunts i was digging a signal and lying on the clod on soil was a gold coin!

I was so excited until i found out it was a 1986 5 franc ...grrrr
