I managed to get 30 mins in before the heavens opened. Only found a 20p piece. I'm getting a bit fed up of only finding modern coinsge. Raslly hope my last batch of letters produces some land for me to have a go at.

Have you had a walk around your local area, stop and chat to people working on the land also knock on the doors and ask face to face it worked for me.
Good luck :)

I've sent out a load of letters and had a few replies to say no. I'm going to go knocking on a few doors in the next few weeks after my holiday. Not quite sure what to do when they answer the door though :D

Hi Jimbo, have you ever thought of asking at old mansion sites as i have found lots of goodies on them and now have near on a 1000 acres of prime grass and woodland to detect on, also go round and talk to farmers especially if their land have footpaths through them, churches are good, try the fields round them, even picnic areas can produce good finds.
Don't be shy ask and you'll get ;)

Hi Mate

Not yet. I need to speak to a guy called My Rigby?? who is the local go to guy for all things history in the area and he, apparently, is the one who will be able to say yes or no. Trying to get hold of him is proving to be a bit difficult though.

I had a walk around the area on Sunday though and there is just loads of fields to go at if someone would just give me a shot. Getting quite frustrating now lol

Cheers

jimbo
