small shield badge?

Post by FinderFind »

Hello All,

I went back to the field I found the cross in with my etrac to have another go(Linked below)
and I found some more things, one was I think a coin, but it is
totally worn and I cannot make out anything,

the other item is the one below, I cannot see any writing on it
(could be worn). I'm guessing it could be some sort of badge? anyone have any idea what this is, or when it came from?. the Field i'm searching in is an area dating way back,

Keep finding these interesting looking items which is great, but would love
to be able to date them or get someidea how they got there.

it is approx an inch long/wide, in the middle there appears to be a circle

Thanks

Link to the cross I found in the field:

Hi,

Thanks for the info,
I'm wondering if it is auctally that colour (flint colour).
or it could be a layer of something, many of my finds are showing up that same colour, with a smooth finish, even ones that should not be that colour, anyone have any ideas,

also posted a thread about this in cleaning section.

Thanks
