Southport Beach

Post by whitneyhouston2475 »

Greetings all it has been a while, just came out of hibernation. I am off down to Southport (Pontins) next week to indulge in my other passion of bike rallies & noticed that we are staying right next to the beach. I know that this beach is not crown estate so not sure if it's worth me taking the old detector to help me sober up on Sat & Sun morning. Anyone know about this beach? & can I legally go on it? :-/

I've not heard of anyone having problems tecting there.

The main problem is the sheer size of the beach, it's so big theres no sea anywhere near Southport =))

When I was younger this beach was full of cars and people on the south side of the pier, in front of the roller coaster. I went on there a few years ago but it was frozen solid! couldnt dig it so gave up after digging loads of trash. Most beachcombers in Southport collect coal north of the pier.
The dunes are home to lizards and natterjack toads, hope this helps :D
