I just got MINELAB...yipeee...

Post by sado_81 »

Hi guys, I just bought 2nd hand Explorer 2 as my upgrade.. :D :D :D :D =)) =))
After hours of reading reviews and some time playing with emulator I decided to get one.
I'm just slightly afraid of all the tones it makes including threshold witch will be completely new to me... but i hope I'll manage it. :-O :-O
I'll go back to my ''old'' sites that gave me some good stuff. :D :D.
Does any of you have some tips regarding settings etc, for starting up? :-/
Thanks.

Try a test area soemwhere. Use the factory settings for a time while you adust to all those sounds (I have had mine since Christmas). When you feel more comfortable lower the discrimination to about 22 (straight line from top to bottom) and practice. Plenty of programes on this site for you to play with (i have posted some myself). I am still adjusting to mine, just put the practice in and those sounds wont seem too odd after a while i am told!! (but it is a gerat dectector - if you pass over it on the whole it will find it!).

P.S. Read the manual many times and play with some of the settings on your practice area.

My EX II arrived today =)) =)) =)) =))
I put batteries in and away I went in the field. :D
First impression- :-O :-O :-O- sooo many different sounds coming out of it . :-O The weight of it too. ,':|
But after about half an hour I changed to ferrous sounds and it was better (for me).

But after an hour and half I had a button, a surprisingly large? shottie. Few bits of lead. And a George III ha'penny dug from about 10''.

WOW!!!!
What a machine!Cannot compare to my trusty PRIZM IV.

:D
Guess, where I'll be tomorrow from early morning hours???
=))
