Talacre is worth a visit, Blackpool seems to bring up the finds. Perhaps best avoid Prestatyn.
Llandudno is mainly pebbles but West Shore is quite sandy I think.
Avoid Wirral peninsula as I don't believe it is in Crown permit area

Llandudno is ok by the pier not sure if you will find much usually modern coins .The problem is finding somewhere to park near the pier even this time of year ,found a few modern coins at west shore but you don,t get same number of people sitting on the beach as on the main one by the pier

Hi Jimbo. If you are going to work Talacre; be prepared to find a lot of scrap. Barkby beach, just along the coast, has a lot less scrap in it. Rhyl, I think, falls somewhere in between the two in reguards to scrap.
I dig all targets and remove the scrap and any broken glass that I find. In the first season that I was at Talacre; I removed over 10kg of sharp broken glass and three hypodermic needles from the beach. Keeps the beach safe for children's little feet, and dogs. May also get us detectorists a good name.
Happy hunting Jimbo
