North Kent Beaches

Post by Terry »

Hi Folks - I am new to Metal Detecting and have just been on my first club rally. I have no land to search so was thinking about trying some beachs (have down loaded Crown Estate permission form). I have a Csope CS3MX which is only good on dry sand. Does anyone have any suggestions for my area (Medway Towns)?

Hi Terry, thought I'd say welcome seeing as though I guess everyone must be busy hunting today(or working), :D

I'm afraid to say I live in the North West so have no idea about North Kent, happy hunting anyway and good luck with your treasure hunting ::g

hi, leysdown on isle of sheppey has loads of sand. can't say how productive it would be but i have done a bit of detecting out on the wet sand/mud of the end of the promenade there and theres been some great finds made there over the last couple of years. a couple of quarter staters, roman and hammered coins, buckles, seal matrices and a fair few modern rings. it has been detected quite hard but stuff does still come up.
