found in a field in Greater London

1. Cart decorations?

Picture one looks like the front end caps that come off shields the Saxons used to buy with the dead soldiers. So you might have stumbled on a Saxon burial site that will explain the death mask face you found as well.

Picture 1 again here is where they were used see the modern copy of the Saxon Shield below the metal bit in the middle.

The top ones are harness boss's or mounts 19th century I think

will look at the others later

Phew the title of this thread made me think someone had taken a pic of Me, Wal and Ian whilst out at the weekend.

Seriously though great finds whatever they are and whilst I agree 100% with Jeffers (I can see the scales) it apears the W been struck wrong way round on either the object found or the example given (or am I just too old to see right lol).

The silver bit has a t over the W I think so good ID as usual! I think it must be a flattened 6d since I can see a bit of writingon it

pictures 15 and 16 in the main link look to me like the pointy dangerous end from a shell
it looks to be threaded on the under rim and also there is what appears to be a setting hole that would take a tool that was used to set the fuse
but i am often wrong just ask my wife she will say the same thing :((

thanks.It is from a fuze but I don'tknow what type.It is not like the ones I have found previously
