Can anyone familiure with Minelab detectors please explain the difference between Waterproof and Water Resistant coils?
I recently received their new catalogue and it states that the common 9" concentric colis are waterproof and the 10.5" double D coils which come with higher end machines are water resistant.

Basically submersible and non-submersible. Resistant means your fine with rain and washing it but their is a "chance" that if it's completely submerged that water will get in.

I'm sure in the handbook of my GT it says 10" coil is waterproof...to me that means...well waterproof

In order to be considered waterproof by Minelab, it needs to be able to withstand being submerged to one meter for prolonged periods. Water resistant means that it can deal with being washed off, worked in wet grass, or even take a wave splash w/o issue, but shouldn't be submerged.
If you slow down, you'll achieve a more harmonious outcome.
