founfd this yesterday, not in great condition but have no idea what it is the black piece in the middle seems to be gass, with some kind of pattern on it, it was found very cose to a norman church, but dont think its of that age, any ideas

thanx for reply, thats what came to mind but you wouldnt have a detailed bit of glass at the end it would be metal next to the bayonet pins.. :-/
