XP DEUS battery and update question

two questions please folks
firstly I have a second hand deus v1/updated to v2
it didnt come with any installer disc or computer cable. just headphones/charger/coil/handset
have found a USB cable which fits the slot but cant get my computer to recognise the handset. so was there actually an installer CD in the original pack?
also coil no longer recognised by handset.
have tried charging it but still saying 'no coil'
it did function briefly but now just get no coil message.
i did call regtons and they told me to download update from xp site, which i did in case the coil and handset are simply not commuitcating correctly. but laptop wont accept usb connection to coil (laptop isnt faulty)
any ideas?

Hi MRSP,

I just purchased a version 2.0 Deus and there is no cd/dvd supplied. Any software update is downloaded from the XP website.

I wondered if maybe the usb cable is incorrect, in the user manual it states that the type should be mini-B. Might be worth trying another usb cable first to be safe.

Also, does the led on the coil flash at all? It should flash every 4 seconds in standby.
According to the troubleshooting guide a no coil message could be related to a missing or incorrect serial number enetered on the remote, the coil battery is drained or reached the end of it's lifetime or the coil could be defective.

If you are anywhere near Milton Keynes you are welcome to come over and try my cables.

connecting the coil to a usb then to a computer will do nothing anyway.
