wedding ring + mobile phone

Post by chippie998 »

went down on the beach late this afternoon ,as i was getting the detector out of the car a young man walked past me and spotted my detector and asked me if i would help him find his wedding ring he lost ,but it was out in shallow water lucky the tide was on its way out and by the time we got to the spot his family had roughly marked out a patch on the beach where they thought it was ,started trying to find it ,after about 30 mins got a good signal and out it popped ,one happy man he tried to pop some money in my hand for finding it but i refused it and told him its kind of a service that most of us would be happy to provide anyway ,so he brought me a cold drink and a box of chocies as a way of saying thx , then 20 mins later someone stopped me saying that there son had lost his mobile so off we marched ,and we managed to find that as well and dad kindly gave me a fiver for helping out which i said no but he would not have it , saying that it would have cost him a fortune for the insurance on the phone if he had not found it , and after that all i found was about 6 pound in lose change , but what a nice day its been :D :D

Its great when you an do some good like this. You were in the right place at the right time for these people. ::g
Its better out of the ground and in your hand for the history or monetary value rather than left in the ground to rot doing nothing for anyone.

well done...I love the feeling of helping someone. You always have to imagine if it was your ring or something, I get sad sometimes finding really nice rings at the beach and wonder about the owner. So your story is a good one! :-)
