Local beach today.

Post by janner53 »

Hi All ::g,
I've not been out detecting for over a week so decided to give my local beach another go.
Its only a small beach and been well done, but...but...always something pops out. Good 'ol Mother Nature.

£4.53, only cost me like £1 worth of petrol and no car park charge, so I'm ahead,
:D

Also a crusty old penny, couple of swivels and fishing weights. The ring nothing to get excited over, just some sort of metal. The button looked nice, but reading the back I'm sure it says 'PRESS STUD', can't see that being very old.

Really it was just nice to get out ::g.

Dadinator ::g, I have been reading here, and sometimes commented about my experience with the Ace 250 on beaches. I have only detected on two beaches so far and my Ace performs well.
Today, as i always do on this beach I was searching in all metal mode on full sensitivity in the dry sand, when i get onto the wet stuff i go into relic mode on full sensitivity. I do get them false signals but got into the habit of not digging that low iron thud and one way signals.
If a signal is not that low iron thud tone and its a good two way signal, i dig it.
Yup, i dig a load of trash but now and again, out pops a goody ::g.

Down on the waters edge it do get a bit noisy, its only there that I knock a couple of notches off the sensitivity, but never have any luck at the waters edge, think its a depth thing and tend to keep away from it.
