Filey today (sunday)

Post by ribeye »

Hi folks been out with the usual crew, very nice day sun shining for a change, finds was a bit thin on the ground as there was a lot of sand in apart from the sea wall area so I tried that area with a few finds so here is my efforts for today.
Happy hunting.

The East Coast Mob have had a good run over the last couple of months but people are beginning to believe it is always like that at Filey. Unfortunately it is not, I have searched it in the past when it has taken weeks, even months, to get off what they have found in a day.

That's the thing with beaches you take advantage when the conditions a favourable but you know it can close in any time and it may be years before it comes good again.

i bet that iron drove you nuts along the wall side if you was close up,it can be hard work along there as the good stuff tends to be right in among it,

i will second that,
the beach can sand in just as fast as it strips off,
even on one tide the beach can change dramatically ,

Hi there, there is a lot of iron up close to the wall, detector was going nuts, so lowered the sensitivity down and slowed down the sweep speed and I coped quite well considering all the junk up there. you guys are right saying how quick the beach changes over night. There was a couple of guys 100 yards behind me and they was using sandscoops...... God knows how they went on digging, I was struggling with a spade amongst all the stones and rocks..
