Deus problem

Post by xbolt »

Hi all
Having a problem this morning. I've had the deus since Christmas use it all the time but I've turned on as normal this morning and I'm getting a tone everything the light pulses on the coil. Everything is fully charged I use factory settings and have adjusted nothing. I have tried turning on and off changing areas in doing so but still it won't stop the pulsing tone am I missing something to do or have I got to have it looked at. Cheers

I find my really suffers from interference - if you have any fencers or wires near you this could be causing it - mine will pick up an electric fencer 50 metres away and electricity lines can affect it

have you got the big or standard coil? Have you tried it in another area to see if it gets better? Has the control box been wet?

try it without the headphones and use the speaker on the control box, then turn off the control box and try it with just the headphones. might eliminate a one or the other :-/

Hi guys
I went to Regtons to have it looked at and showed him a video I filmed off my phone of it happening. He instantly said electrical interference probably from a horse fence, this surprises me as I was in the middle of a field over 50 m away as mentioned above. However at least my machine isn't faulty. Thank you Regtons and thanks to anyone who has looked at this.

I find my Deus is fine when only 1mtr away from an electric fence. I would not think the fence is your problem.

Also remove the coil cover and clean out the debris, could be metallic particles trapped in there, Liam ::g

it could be a fuel supply pipe these have a security device that tells the fuel co that its being tampered with these types of pipes carry aviation fuel petrol or diesel from the main storage tanks direct to airports and fuel co up and down the uk

Hi guys
It's defo the fence,I nipped back yesterday as it just didn't sit well with me. I switched on in a field which has nothing in it,the deus was fine,I then headed towards where I was previous and the same thing started happening,I walked into the middle of the field which is undisturbed ridge and farrow approx 100-150m wide with the fence alround(I hadn't noticed before as its new) and the deus was still pulsing from the electric.I did walk over and touch it and it did have a good bite ( I'm a shooter aswell and at night often walk into the wires or check them when I'm assessing back stops).I thought I would post this as I'm amazed at how far away iam from it and others can be aware if they have a similar problem. Again thanks all

Hi xbolt I am so pleased you have this solved I was detecting in France with electric fences all around the fields but I found that once a reasonable distance away I was ok. I wonder if voltage has a bearing on interference? Anyway so glad you solved it and glad that so many people chipped in to help you. What a great forum. All the best Pete.
