detecting on the beaches looe

sorry to have to ask,
ive never done any beach detecting whatsoever,were going to the john fowler site trelawne manor near Looe for a week at the end of july with the in-laws
i understand that the shore is very rocky at looe,ive never been before so a couple of questions for you please
1. do i need a permit for the crown foreshore?
2. can anybody recommend a nice beach?
3. i know my gmp will struggle ,any suggested settings or tips
if the answer to my first question is YES i,ll just take my fishing gear

There no detecting allowed on Looe beach there is a sign there pity as would love to search the beach as i dont live far from it.

Hi off the end of the Banjo pier in Looe there are a few beaches up the coast from Looe you can go on Downderry is one so take your gear when you come down give me a PM and i will sort you out with sites.
