Hour on the beach - Yipeeeeeeee!

Post by sponge »

Hi all

Had a hour on the beach this afternoon, nearly didnt go because of the frequent showers that we have had most of the day (Sovereign Elite isnt waterproof and im not keen on getting wet either.)

After waiting in the car for about 20 mins the sun came out so i wandered down to the beach to find that the sand was well up and to be honest looked a complete waste of time.
HOWEVER i noticed that contractors have been working on the beach - not sure what they are doing but it looks as though a lot of large pebbles have been removed and quite a bit of sand has been moved around.

I started searching part of the beach that looked like a rough ploughed field with deep tyre tracks all over the place. A few of the old style ring pulls and some really green cruddy coins that must have been there for quite a while were found, then a glint of gold caught my eye - wow what a beauty my first 22ct gold ring ever off the beach (found loads of gold rings but almost all have been 9ct ) If you were down at the beach this afternoon i was the one doing cartwheels!

Glad i went to the beach!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the info machinist - i did wonder about the age, most wedding rings nowadays are only 9ct but i know that 22ct was the norm in days gone by.
