Deus 11 inch coil

Post by Taxino8 »

Just spoken to Regtons regarding the release of this coil.
I wanted to buy my wife a Deus and thought I would wait and get the full setup with the new 11 inch coil. Apparently I will not be able to do this; when it is released it will only be available to purchase as an accessory.
I understand the logic of this from a money making perspective but in my opinion it is not really good for customer relations.
What do others think?

Yes seems a bit harsh, should be an option, either 9 or 11 inch coil fitted when you buy.

Did they say when it was coming?

I was told it was due by the end of this month but if I put my name on a waiting list I might get one by October!

There will be other suppliers no doubt. Wonder how much it will be.

I had same conversation and same reply. I agree with you, it's not customer focused. And with an expected price of over £300, it's not a cheap accessory. A friend contacted XP directly, and they indicated it would be available as an option, same as 9 inch and larger coil, later in the year. So I think I will wait.

Hi, yes I have decided to do the same and will continue to share our existing Deus with the wife until it becomes available as part of the full setup.
In effect XP are losing some early sales as I am sure there are other people wanting to buy the full outfit with the 11 inch coil and they too will hold off.
Times are hard and surely they should realise that any sale is a good sale.

The coils are ready its a case of getting the coils covers perfect and quite right too.

Remember what happened with the Aussie WOT coils covers which were being held in place with tape.

Best to h get it right first time.

After 18 months wait another couple of weeks will not hurt me. ;) Jerry.

The updated v3 manual said something along the lines of available 'end of 2013', until it got pulled from the site. Got any links to official release date info please anyone? :-/

Will the XP Deus 11" Coil be V3, if so you will have to upgrade to V3 on remote and headphones before pairing the coil.

i have been hanging on for the 11 inch coil for sometime now i have put the new v3 software on to my deus and iam not to sure i like it (time will tell) things sound different and iv got a problem with the battery indicator showing fully charged when i know its not. i am back out with her tonight after work to see if i can get my head around it. but i recon i will be going back to the v2 software my attitude is if something is not broke dont fix it the coils that are out for the deus can hold v2 and v3 software so i have been told and the coils will swich to which ever your control box is running on so i would hope the new 11 inch coil will do the same it better B| or there will be a lot of unhappy people out there that are running on v2 and then forced to run v3. i do trust the team at xp and i am sure any problems with the v3 software will be ironed out asap.
well thats my rant for the day >:P

im surprised that it wont be offered as an option when you buy, but i suspect it will be soon after it comes out.
most detectors you dont get a choice of coil when you buy.
still think they should have brought out the 11" right at the beginning though.
