Hi, i agree with you both, however, i have done area's like the one i found last night and managed a lot better in the past with the etrac, i did not get into finds while late on after a bit of messing with the detector which makes me doubt the program, or more so, how i put it in, and were the finds there to be had anyway..? No guarantees in this job, all about learning.

Nah, you won't be missing anything Neil.

Often when you change machines, the finds fall off before picking up again.

You and the lads are too savvy to be doing anything wrong/ missing anything.

Hi Pete/Tomo, i do feel it's going to take a bit of learning but last night the signals were very scratchy and not alot of stability in the number screen, like Tom says they do find the small items, the ring at the bottom of the big picture is smaller than a 1/2 pence.
Cheers for the encouragement

Just remember don't whack the sense up with deep on when searching iron infested gulley's. All you'll hear is iron 2 foot down and not the nice finds above it ;)

Hi Rattzzz, I have no experience of the CTX but the range of finds tell me you doing something right with your machine.

If you are expecting the same level of finds we were getting earlier on this year on a certain beach then you will be disappointed, that was an experience that does not come along very often :D

With the beach changing all the time it is often just luck that you turn up on the right day to land on a good patch that produces gold. I have had plenty of days when I have found very little even though the area looks good but the times you dig up the yellow stuff makes it worthwhile. ::g

Hi Neil,
You are finding plenty of things, so I doubt wether you are missing much m8, as somebody has said a lot depends on the beach conditions.
Have you asked Dicko about what settings he uses? If you go over the goodies the CTX or the Etrac will not miss them.

I am still using Gordon's Minelab 705 which he has kindly lent me, if it wasn't for Gordon I would not be detecting.
My funds are building up to purchase the CTX not far away now, cant wait to get back to a minelab, just ordered some headphones of Malcolm, the Surf Fones, [:) [:) he is building me a set as we speak.

I will be able to use them with a patch lead from Steve at Protectors, the best thing is that they can be used with the CTX module, or hard wire them to the machine.
Also they are waterproof not totally though you can't go underwater with them, but they will be ideal for the beach, and in pouring rain.
Anyway Neil speak to you soon.
Regards
