Few hours on the beach.

Post by PRS »

Had a few hours out on the beach, I don't do the beach often maybe I've done it 3 times since I've had the E-Trac? But I'm waiting for my fields to be cut at the moment and the little pasture that I have is bone dry at the moment. Anyhow I got an ultimate finds pouch from Phil and put it to the test today great bit of kit, enough room for a bottle of water, the garrett pointer has a nice little slot and more space than needed for finds which is better than filling up a small pouch and wishing it was bigger.

Had some ring pulls but not anywhere near as many as last time, £4.57 in spendable cash, a 1942 farthing, 1941 2 francs(oldest coin from the beach so far) and a 500 lira. I managed to find my first ring sadly it wasn't gold, nor was it silver but stainless it's not worth much about £7 new + post but still I'm happy with it. Must've been lost recently as I didn't need to dig saw a little glimmer and pulled a hand full of sand to find it :) Anyhow I'm going to try to put some more time into doing the beaches as I quite enjoyed today got me out in the sun for a few hours, had a few conversations with general public who seemed quite interested.

Here's the pics.

Cheers MetalMonkey, true it is easy digging haven't found anything older than 1941 yet not even an old penny yet though. Maybe some of the older stuff will crop up when I put the time in.

Fair enough, let me know if you decide to go to any of the Essex ones or nearby as I'll most likely be there.

Nice selection and looks like you had some good sport there mate.
I prefer inland but not sure why really as i always come away from the beach with 10x more than if i was inland. I guess its the part of me that is craving hammered coins and seal matrix's etc. If i could lose that wanting for hammered then i would do like some on here and concentrate solely on the beach.
