eastbourne beach?

hey guys, i will be going to eastbourne this weekend for holidays..enjoy the sun and so on..
but sincei will be there, i tought i could enjoy some metal detecing as well :p
anyone knows how do i get a permit?
is it a crown foreshore permit i need? if so, i already have it..

Eastbourne is full of pebbles and quite hard to work, I would suggest that the Holywell area of the beach is the most productive. Areas near the pier are good but be prepared for intrusive holiday makers. Avoid the Pevensey end of the beach unless you want fishing weights.
