XP DEUS with 9” coil, WS5 headphones ????

Hi guys
just wanted to know if the Deus is alright to use without the control box ?anyone here use a Deus with just head phones whats your opinion .Iv been thinking on buying one

I use a Deus Lite v3.1 with WS5s. I haven't had it very long (upgraded from a Laser Rapier II) and I really love it. I haven't used a machine with a meter before so I'm happy just going by what my ears tell me. I haven't dug any iron with it and it's finding tiny things no problem so for now I'm carrying on like this. Was going to get the control box after Christmas but I've got a few friends who run the Lite version and they find all kinds of stuff and don't plan on buying the remote. I'll see how I get on, early days, but so far I'm really impressed with it. Hope this helps

ok sounds good thanks for the reply follycollie . I have the xterra 705 myself great detector I just fancy a change plus there is great reviews on the deus

the only thing to consider is, you need the control box to upgrade the versions. You can't connect the headphones to your computer direct.
I've just upgraded from an Ace 250 to the full package with WS4 headphones and 11 x 13 coil from Regton's, and they did an excellent offer, so if you can afford the extra it is well worth getting the full package.

i have the ws4 and ws5....
if you are not a person who wears a cap when detecting, i wouldn't suggest you use the ws5... it really slips a lot when you bow your head and look down... *just from experience*

a lot of people are selling away their ws5 due to this issue... but i solved it by just wearing a cap on my head before putting it on... it prevents it from slipping off.

also, i got the ws5 in anticipation of getting the 11" coil when it is out so that i can literally run 2 set ups with one controller, ws4 on 9" coil, ws5 on 11" coil.

so if you are getting a second coil... buy the ws5 off someone cheap now... and then get the new coil to have a 2nd set of great detecting tool... (oh, remember to get the upper arm)
