Do I go for a PI

I was up at Filey the other day with My AT Pro and to be honest it struggled.
Tried lots of things messing with sensitivity and manual ground balance but it was not happy. I found a pound coin and about 20p in clad and unearthed a roses tin which I put back ( over a foot deep on dry sand ) as it turned out to be a child's time capsule.
Currently on the skint side nut I am considering a PI machine for the Beach. I am patient so happy to wait for a bargain to come along.
Do you think this is the way to go, I am ex RAF so don't mind digging tbh could do with the exercise.
or would I be wiser to save up for a vlf machine that copes better with the beach.
I would not want to let the Pro go as I use it in fresh water and get along really well with it.

Go for it great on wet sand if there is any thing there it will find it.Iam glad you like digging as you will do plenty of it. I have 1 and would not swap it.

go for a pi and if you can get one get a eric foster pi detector looks like charles garretts been busy with that extreme machine ferret

I looked at that ATX it is a beast ( in Looks anyway ) a lot like garretts military machine in looks.
sadly budget will not allow for much. I will probably keep my eyes out for a CS4PI or some such... I heard that Eric Foster had input into the CS6PI but dunno if that's so. As I said I will be patient and hunt a bargain. Then if I find I get on with it I will look at what else is available.
I do like the idea of a dedicated beach machine.

for a cheaper option ya could look at a used minelab advantage range, great on beach with some discrim. I have the Sov GT and wouldn't go back to a Pi.... there's a lot of crap on Filey as well as Scarborough.. if ya don't mind digging then go for a PI... If not the Multi frequency detectors work better on wet beaches ...

Go for a PI,Cs4PI,reasonable priced!.also get a good spade or scoop.they go deep.but you soon
concur the learning curve.had no problems myself on filey beach!iron n all!(be starting again now winters here.plenty of space nfree parking)If it beeps dig it!Its more important to learn how to read the beach n what to look for!Best of luck.!
