well it's not like they were taking three pebbles but rather 12 odd bags and the person reporting it may have thought they were then just going to flog them in an over expensive garden centre etc

I must add that Clevedon beach is an SSSI based on the minerals that can be found on the beach and as such it is illegal to remove pebbles - thank goodness it is not illegal to detect there.
With respect to the story, 12 bags is a bit much - if everyone did this, there would be no beach left.
Everything in moderation eh? Matt

looks pretty cool and to be able to do this for something which is relatively free then maybe it's no wonder the 39 year old woman wanted them ::g ::g but I also think that the woman who reported her to the police should get out there and get a life :-O :-O or a hobby or something :-/ :-/ let's all hope that she doesn't take up metal detecting though :-O :-O :-O

This thread reminds me of when my mate and I were at the beach last summer. We just came out the water and was drying off in the sun when he says to me, "Hey janner, if you want to really impress the ladies drop a large pebble down your trunks, works everytime". I just laughed it off but as soon as he left me and went for a couple of ice creams I found a large pebble and popped it down my trunks and went a walkabout.

After about half an hour i returned to my mate and the first thing i said to him was that the pebble down the trunks thing don't work. I told him i walked past lots of ladies with this pebble down my trunks and all i could hear them saying as I passed them was "disgusting, awful, terrible, etc.

He said janner you fool, your supposed to put the pebble down the front of your trunks, not the back.

... Well, he could have told me X( .
