Did hele bay today with my new at pro to try it out,bad choice of beach rl; loads of noise, full of rubbish,got soaking wet,still serving my apprenticeship,no finds what so ever,back to woolacombe.

I know what you mean mate, seems all the shale beaches around ilfracombe are full of them lumps of melted alluminium, they ring out lovely too, just like pound coins
Never had much luck at woolacombe myself, and with these westerlies and high tides, there will be even more sand dumped up the beach, might be worth a go at low, around the low tide mark in case the sand has been taken from here.
I found a gold ring about mid way down the beach at puts borough last week
although it was pretty deep, and a few quid in cash . and a couple old pennies, so might be worth a try there mate, I,ve never come home empty handed from puts, I have many times from woolacombe, never really worked out why either
