Filey today
Hi all, i went to Scarborough today and what a mess, sand every where, across the road in the shops, i feel sorry for the folk who live there, the police had shut the road at both ends while diggers were removing it back to the beach, so i decided to go to Filey and there it was totally sanded in from one end to the other i ended up finding a bit of a opening down by Primrose Valley which turned up a few bits. The silver thimble and cannon was on my wish list so not too bad.
Even though it was rough the surfing lads was going at it.

Good haul considering the way people's beaches are with sand being put on the north/north-east coast.
Me and tomo had a couple of hours down there last night and lots of sand put on ours too...saying that in most places it was also as flat as a snooker table in most places so it should be easier to see when things change..

I saw the news report of Scarborough, what a mess, shops and pubs flooded out.
It also showed the crazy windsurfers, they must be getting a real adrenalin kick from that.

blackpool has had 000's tons of sand dumped on by the winds no gullies at all on friday
Hi Huckfin, there was someone up the north end but they didn't stop long , i went down by Primrose Valley at the bottom of the slope, someone had been down there prior to me getting there as there were a few holes dug, they must have had a pi as only a few holes were dug and it was infested with rubbish no good for a pi.huckfin wrote:hi rattzzz was that you on filey today was down north end not mutch doing plenty of them lead plugs still down there

Hi Neil,
Well done Neil a few nice finds there, like the silver thimble always nice to find one, also like the toy cannon m8.
One day I will get detecting on the coast line, finding very little inland these days.
Regards
Colin
