Post by John and Dawn »

Just been to Crawfords at Scunthorpe Picked up 2 Detech Ultimate 13" coils. Converted the Sovereign to straight shaft. Roll on test day tomorrow.

I changed my Sov to a straight shaft, still hipmount, not totally sure it's more comfortable,but the straight shaft is a tad lighter than the S shaft, so that at least is a bonus.
Do you use a meter on the Sov ? I alternate between a meter or no meter, sometimes the tones still after 18 months throw me a bit.

No Meter, just the tones.
Really like the ultra simplicity.
I hip mount mine as well.
Next project is a remote Discrim/All metal switch at the end of the handle.
Love the Sovereign ::g

Sounds interesting ::g - care to post some pics when you do this as I've been toying with the idea of converting one of mine?
