XP Deus with headphones only

Hello friends!
I have just bought an XP Deus. My first metal detector. Thought I could do without the remote since the manual says (page 29):

Menus accessed via the headphones have the same range of settings as the remote control.

After my first encounter I am not so sure. Like: How do I get to the expert settings? …if I want the FULL TONE feature, located in the menu somewhere below the DISC-menu. Nothing this way in sight at the headphones (WS5) display. No likely buttons to use to bring it up either.

Hope an avid Deus user will clarify, and may be, while at it, give some pro&con-arguments and hints on relying on just the sound using an XP Deus. Which seemed to me to be a bright (en less expensive) idea.

I bought my Deus lite a month or so ago and had the same questions. As far as I can see you can't access the expert settings

The full tones can be located by selecting a programme, say 3 which is Deus fast Press menu and Keep pressing it and it will go through Disc; Sens; Ground Ballance; KHZ; until it comes to tones then press + and keep pressing it and you will go through 2 - 3 - 4 tones etc. until you come to Full.

Ground balance is found through Programme 10 - Read page 19 in the manual.

Personally I prefer to listen to sounds than to look at displays

to get full tone press middle button until you see tone on the left its after freq then press + button until you see f on the screen= full tone,hope this helps.

iv had the deus lite for about 5 months =3000 holes id say the set programs are great,i stick to programs 1,2,3 and don:t bother to much with the ground balance,on pasture i love program 3 gmp and full tones,its like all detecters you got to dig it all to see what its telling you.iv wanted to get the controller from the day i got the deus lite but £500 is a lot for me and the more i use the lite the less i think i need it.
