Coil Cover

Post by North »

I have owned my XP Deus now for 9 months and love it. It is so easy to use.
My question for the forum is this:- What difference (If any) does the fitting the coil cover make.
I have tried an air test and I could not detect any reduction in depth.
But in the field would the fitting of the cover reduce depth or performance?

comments welcomed :-w

No, you will not have a reduction in depth. You will however save your coil from abuse and a shorter lifespan

I have tested with and without the coil cover and find no difference. Just make sure to clean the inside of the cover from time to time as sand, dirt etc getting trapped in there might make a difference.

Do you use it without the cover ? you risk damaging it if you use it without the cover ;;z always use it with the cover on . and i always give mine a wash if its dirty when i get home and i remove the cover to get any dust out. Remember a good workman always looks after his Tool ;)

I have a littel tip to everyone.. I have posted it before, but here it is againe..
Just like you can place your phone number and address inside the battery compartment in you GPP ( Garret Pro Pointer)
You can also write the coil number under the coil cover, on the coil.. Will make it easy later on, when the label with number is worn out and long gone.. Specially if you have 2 or 3 coils ( 4 if the 7" comes on market)
