Whites Surfmaster Dual Field

Has anyone sussed out the middle switch yet, if I'm in a rocky area where some rocks give signals I use it to null them out but am I losing sensitivity or am I on the wrong track :-/

Discrimination switch, turn it to the triangle to knock out ring pulls, you will lose
20% of depth at those settings. See the user manual on the Whites website ::g
