Story - Not too serious - new gear and personnel

Post by Danzigman »

Testing new gear and personnel.. Ferrous non ferrous metal detector. Stella got a metal detector from my brother as gift.. At first she was little scared by the sound, and it have been standing for a few months. Last night she was in mood for testing it, and I promised first thing in the morning after breakfast.
So we drove to the beach to test the "thing" guess it could not find coin if 5 cm down, could hardly find the car..
Lucky for me I had "some targets" i accidentally dropped.. So we found little, and she was happy.. Even I had the chance to test the new detecting gear..
If interest continue I think it must be Bounty Hunter or similar..
Thank you for reading. - John.
PS - The eye pad cover it to retrain the eye becurse she have a squinting eye

Great little story and pics John, its always a good plan to have "something to find" up your sleeve when introducing kids to the hobby.

Although I have to admit, my 10 year old daughter finds more stuff than I do most times.

Have a great weekend !
There is always light at the end of the tunnel, the trick is to walk in the right direction.

Looks like you had a great time John. Much better than ipod and the dreaded xbox although my 10 year old would disagree! Good plan to plant a few finds to keep the interest going.

Yes.. Eyes.. The strabismus came shortly after her 1 year birthday.. over less than a week.. First the last year the Lazy Eye have developed.. So now they try to fix that with the patches.. Only for a tst periode from June to late August.. Guess they eventually will do small corrective surgery on the eyes... Normally done before School, and she starts in school Sep 3.. We have appointment on Hospital shortly before that..Hope everything turns out well, Or we have te rename her Marty B-)
"Haywire" :D Nice to be able to spot when you have them in the ropes.. =))
Thank you Guys for all the nice comments - John

Thank you Big A.. Yes it is very nice here... Not everyone can stand being cooped places like this.. But very peacefull and good for mind.. Now Turist season is comming to an end, and life returns to "normal"... Also time to harvest the £ from the beaches.. will run up in approximately 40 £ all year. This year littel more as I found a purse with 10 £ and I gave it back..

Hi John, I think the eye patch must be the new 'must have' accessory for young girls on the beach.

Here is our Grand Daughter on the beach with us at Bridlington today, same problem as your daughter.
