Coke.
Now, when it gives a target ID all is hunky dory. Usually around 26 or so. Fine.
Here's the problem though, many, many times the signal will sound strong but there will be no target ID number. Ive found this to be a "property" of the Deus in general. Surprisingly strong audio signals will still not register an ID on the screen. Normally this is not an issue at all, apart from where a field is littered with coke.
I get a lovely strong signal, no target ID (not a problem usually) but I dig it and its a shallowish piece of coke. Usually the coke is shallow fortunately but on pasture it still involves damaging the turf for no good reason, not to mention the time wasted.
So...... Thus far the only thing Ive found that can give coke away sometimes is an irony grunt when sweeping the coil at 90 degrees to the initial sweep... but good non ferrous signals can do this too sometimes...
Also, on small coke, I can get a good, whispery signal (no target ID)which sounds like a good non ferrous, deep signal. Then it turns out to be a shallow, small piece of coke.
In summary, when the coke gives an ID its easy to spot the stuff and ignore it. Its when it gives a pretty good (or great signal) with no ID on the screen I have issues.
The setup I normally run is Deus Fast with GB left at 90 most of the time but frequency set down to 11.7khz. All other settings default.
Anyone able to help with this issue.
Its really the only thing I have to moan about on the Deus to be honest!
On fields with lots of coke on I remember my Garrett AT Pro fondly which easily coped with most coke. Surely the Deus has a trick or two to get around this issue?
