What Volume do you have your WS5 set at ?

Post by frogeye »

What volume do you have your WS5 head phones set at ? I set mine at level 3 but after a few hours it seems a bit much so I drop it to level 2 but the step down in volume seems to much. Any tips :-/

Yes I don't want to miss any faint signals either . Maybe a thin piece of foam put inside to reduce it to around 2.5 , might give that a try :;@

What I've heard from others, as well as noticed in this thread, is it seems to be roughly +1 level for every 10 years you've lived. Not sure how many dB it goes up per level increased on the controls but would be interested to find out.

I have the WS4's as I put mine in ear defenders ages ago but they should be roughly equivalent to the WS5's this way.

I also find that I don't just keep them on one level, and adjust them depending on the situation/place. lvl 2, when around others, so can still hear them, lvl 2-3 when near the waters edge on a beach (lvl 4-5 during storms :D ) and lvl 1 for very quiet areas in the countryside. ::g

-3db is the minimum increment needed to hear a perceived increase in "volume", so it has to be at least that ::g
